Welcome to WV Baptists for Biblical Values, where we connect the people of God to the People of Government. Government is not the answer to all of our problems, but Jesus and the Gospel are. However, God has ordained government and given it to us as a tool to bring peace and the Gospel to our ever-changing world.

Since our founding in 2020, our mission has been to promote Biblical values in politics of the Mountain State. Under the leadership of our Director, Pastor Bo Burgess — husband, father of three, and pastor of Jordan Baptist Church in Gallipolis Ferry, WV — we are committed to seeing biblical truth influence every level of government in our great state.

Our work begins with educating citizens by keeping them informed about both the good and harmful legislation coming out of Charleston. We believe that knowledge is power, and when God's people understand the issues, they can respond with wisdom and conviction.

Next, our goal is to engage every West Virginian to get involved and make their voices heard on Biblical Values. According to Barna, about 90 million Christians live in the United States. Out of that 90 million, nearly half are registered to vote. Sadly, only half of those Christians who are registered to vote actually vote. We need God's people engaged and voting for Jesus and Biblical Values. WVBBV also encourages Godly men and women to run for local, state, and federal offices.

Lastly, we encourage pastors and churches to contact their representatives and support them. Unfortunately, many legislators never hear a kind word or gesture from their constituents. We do this through consistent prayer, sharing the Gospel, and offering support — even in their campaigns — so they know they are not alone in standing for what is right. Our vision is to see Bible-believing Christians serving faithfully at every level of government, from local offices to the highest positions in our state. God's people need to show the love of Christ and support their representatives. Pastor Burgess also travels to the Capitol every week during the session to encourage our leaders.
